Nexperia and Tata Electronics form strategic semiconductor manufacturing partnership
Time: 2026-09-21

Nexperia and Tata Electronics have announced a strategic partnership covering semiconductor manufacturing, assembly and testing, technology collaboration, and ecosystem development, as both companies look to expand their presence in the global semiconductor supply chain.

The agreement establishes a framework for long-term cooperation across several stages of the semiconductor value chain and is intended to support the growth plans of both organisations while contributing to the development of India's semiconductor manufacturing sector.

The partnership will focus on three key areas: front-end wafer fabrication, back-end assembly and testing, and joint technology and ecosystem development. Under the manufacturing collaboration, the companies will prepare for the production of Nexperia's MOSFET portfolio at Tata Electronics' planned 300mm semiconductor fabrication facility in Dholera, Gujarat. The arrangement also includes cooperation on the assembly and testing of Nexperia's discrete semiconductor products at Tata Electronics' packaging and test plant in Jagiroad, Assam.

The companies said the partnership is designed to enhance manufacturing flexibility, strengthen supply chain resilience and create scalable production capacity to meet future demand. Stefan Tilger, interim chief executive of Nexperia, said the collaboration combines the strengths of both organisations across technology and manufacturing.
